What is Article 335 of Indian Constitution
In simpler terms, Article 335 recognizes the social and educational backwardness of SCs and STs and acknowledges the need to provide them with representation in government jobs and services. However, it also emphasizes that such reservations should not compromise the efficiency of the administration. In other words, while reservations are provided to these communities, merit and efficiency in government services should not be sacrificed.
